So here’s my bread secret…
Pizza dough in the refrigerator section of most grocery stores. Comes as a ball of dough usually made in house by the bakery. My personal fan fave is the ancient grain dough from Whole Foods, but any will do.
Ingredients:
Fresh made pizza dough from grocery store bakery, kept in refrigerated section.
1 tablespoon of olive oil, plus more is using as a dip
1 tablespoon seasoning mix, plus more is using in a dip
1 baking pan
Directions:
Pull uncooked pizza dough out of plastic bag and let it set on the counter unrefrigerated for 15 or so minutes. This allows it to rest / rise before the baking process.
Pre-heat oven 350
Cover 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the bread.
Sprinkle a tablespoon of your favorite seasoning blend to the top of the dough.
I like Green Goddess from Trader Joes that can also be found at some Walmarts /Amazon or another greek inspired mix. Any seasoning blend you like will do (or use a course sea salt and black pepper if that’s all you have.)
Bake on a baking sheet for 30 minutes. The bread will rise like a balloon. The dough pictured here was a little old, so it didn’t rise as well as some do.
Allow bread to cool for 5 minutes. Pour some additional olive oil and seasoning in a bowl for dipping. Tear or cut bread apart and enjoy!
I love this bread over other pre-made grocery store options. Typically made in house by the bakery department it has cleaner ingredients with no extra preservatives. Makes for a really impressive appetizer or addition to any meal. And you don’t have to tell them your little secret, but they will ask!
Raise your hand if you are drooling!
Live well friends,
Christy
